Student Choir ''Surya Sagitta''

The choir "SURYA" was established on 1st August 1999, coordinated by R. Retnowati, whose members are 30 people. The choir "SURYA" first appeared on 24th September 1999 which coincided with Milad Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo. In addition, the "SURYA" choir also performed at the state of 17 August reception in Purworejo Regency in collaboration with all Purworejo artists, Musda Muhammadiyah, Musda PAN, Musda Aisyiyah, Muhammadiyah Orphanage Meetings, and others. The choir "SURYA" has four regular sections in each year, which are twice filled graduation ceremonies in April and October, Milad Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo and attend the event on OSPEK activity of new students of Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo and until now the active members of choir "SURYA" as many as 50 people. On 12th October 2012 the choir "SURYA" changed its name to Student Choir "Surya Sagitta".

As a place of appreciation for students in the field of music art especially choir, Student Choir "Surya Sagitta" has a work program that is holding a concert force in every year. The concert is dedicated to Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo as an institution that overshadows Student Choir "Surya Sagitta", students, music lovers and especially choirs.

Student Choir "Surya Sagitta" ever won several races both solo and choir. The last championship is at national level at LPS Festival 10 Sapta Gita Jaya 2018 at University of Semarang.
